What's in the minds of parents of autistic children in related to autism and vaccines

Brian Williams of NBC Nightly News said "Thousands of viewers e-mailed NBC about the issue of vaccines and autism." That's an overwhelming response that was probably trigged after NBC Monday's segment, (that was also on MSNBC), that stated "Vaccines were cleared in causing autism". Sounds like doctors and scientists aren't doing anymore research in that issue, but that's not the case. Saying "vaccines were cleared" was a poor choice of words in my opinion.

Parents of children with autism are not crazy or insane. They are not looking for a cause of their child's disability. They are not pointing figures at the obvious cause of mercury in childhood vaccinations. What comes to show is children, thousands of children were developing normally since birth and after each shot they were slipping farther and farther away. The symptoms of autism and mercury poisoning are very similar. Autistic children showed high levels of mercury following the series of vaccines. Chelation helped removed heavy metals including mercury from the body and as the mother of an autistic son on the "Today Show", Monday, February 21 (second segment), said that was a miracle for her son. Both children (2) of another mother that ate tunica fish everyday while pregnant, her children have autism. That comes to show there are other sources of mercury.

I watched the NBC series on autism everyday and it was mentioned that the rate of autism diagnosis should be decreasing after 1999, because that's the year health officials urged the drug companies to remove Thimerosal (contains mercury) from children's vaccines, but not all vaccine makers compiled with that request. And the health officials didn't order the vaccines already made and already shipped to hospitals and doctor's offices to be destroyed and not used. The request for Thimerosal free vaccines was only for the new vaccines.

Hospitals and doctor's offices end up keeping vaccines for years after they received them. In fact, in January of 2003, there were still Thimerosal containing vaccines around. Considering that most autistic children are diagnosis between the ages of 2-5, a decrease in autism diagnosis may happen this year, next year, and the years to come.
