    Welcome to my personal website.  My name is Eric Sissom and I'm from Manchester, Tennessee, a town about halfway between Nashville and Chattanooga.  I'm a college student at Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.  I'm pursuing a Bachelor of Professional Studies Degree with Information Technology Concentration through the Regents Online Degree Program (RODP) of the Tennessee Board of Regents.  I have 103 hours credit.  I earned an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Information Technology through RODP and graduated in 2006 at Motlow State Community College in Lynchburg, Tennessee.

    I have a condition called Asperger Syndrome, a mild form of autism.  Autism is a disorder that affects the brain in areas of communicating.  I was diagnosed with autism when I was 14 years old and my diagnosis was upgraded to Asperger Syndrome in 2003.  The difference between autism and Asperger Syndrome is children with Asperger's start talking at a normal age as children with autism start talking later or may never talk.  I started talking when I was four years old.  According to the Autism Society of America, 1 out of 166 children are diagnosed with autism and 1 to 1.5 million Americans have some form of autism.  Autism is usually diagnosed between the ages of two to five.  Asperger Syndrome is usually diagnosed later in life.  Everybody with autism is different and autism affects each person differently at different degrees.  About 10% of those with autism have savant abilities including talents in music, art, math, and calendar memory.  The 1988 movie Rain Man was based on a true life savant.  For more information about autism or Asperger Syndrome, visit my other website.

    My interests include computers, web design, country music, alternative music, and collecting state quarters.  I have a variety of favorite TV shows including sitcoms and lawyer shows.  My favorite sitcoms are: George Lopez, Everybody Loves Raymond, and The Andy Griffith Show.  My favorite lawyer shows are: Boston Legal (spin-off from The Practice) and Matlock.  I also like the detective show Monk.  Judge Judy is also my favorite TV judge, even though I don't always agree with her rulings.  In my spare time, I update my websites.  I have a number of websites in my portfolio at www.ericsissom.com.
